Is it normal to feel anxious or scared about counselling? - Yes, it is completely normal to have these feelings before starting counselling, especially if you are accessing counselling for the first time. Accessing counselling is a difficult decision to make as it means discussing feelings with a stranger. However, I am here to help you to feel comfortable and remember you are in control of what we talk about.

Is everything we talk about confidential? - Everything discussed in our sessions remains confidential, apart from some legal exceptions, which can be discussed before you decide to continue with counselling sessions.

What if I decide I don't like my Counsellor? - Once we work together, you might decide that I'm not the right Counsellor for you. That's completely normal, just let me know and we can discuss what you would like to happen. The counselling relationship is incredibly important and for you to feel comfortable enough to discuss your concerns is essential for you.

How many sessions will I need? - There is no definite answer here and it very much depends upon what you would like to gain from counselling and the depth of work that you would like to do. You are in control of the pace of sessions, the commitment to attending sessions and the work that we do, including the decision to end sessions.
